Information on phased-out Master programs
Information to the Master program "Molecular Microbiology, Microbial Ecology and Immunobiology" (066 830)
The existing Master program “Molecular Microbiology, Microbial Ecology and Immunobiology (830)” is being phased out and will run until March 31st of 2027. Students registered in this program can do one of the following:
- Continue your studies and take the courses as described in the corresponding curriculum. Make sure you complete your coursework and Master thesis and defensio before March 31st, 2027.
- If you complete at least 45 ECTS, which should include full 30 ECTS of the introductory module MMEI-I and at least 15 ECTS in the focal areas (module MMEI-II), then after the deadline of 31.03.2027 you will be automatically transferred to
- Master study program "Microbiome Science" (UA 066 219) if you accumulated at least 15 ECTS in the focal areas "Molecular Microbiology" (MMEI-II-1) or "Microbial Ecology" (module MMEI-II-2)
- Master study program "Molecular Biology" (UA 066 865) if you accumulated at least 15 ECTS in the focal area "Immunobiology"
Students who accumulated less than 45 ECTS or the accumulated ECTS did not cover 30 ECTS in module MMEI-I and at least 15 ECTS in any of the focal areas in module MMEI-II will be de-registered.
This regulation (published in the University Newsletter) supercedes previous information. It is not possible to transfer to the Master study program "Molecular Biology" unless you apply for admission using regular admission process.
Once you are transferred to these programs, the courses from MMEI could be recognized to the maximal amount possible.
Important! The additional courses prescribed upon your admission to your Master program (so-called Auflagen, or Ergänzungsprüfungen) will remain in the new programs; you will still have to complete those courses.
