The workload for this Master degree program is 120 ECTS credits. This corresponds to the planned study duration of four semesters. The program includes
- One out of 5 alternative compulsory modules (i.e., focal areas): Biochemistry, Molecular Structural Biology, Molecular Cell Biology, Molecular Medicine or Neurosciences: 30 ECTS
- Interdisciplinary subjects (a choice of course from focal areas in Master study programs Molecular Biology, Genetics, Microbiology, Molecular Plant Sciences, Chemistry, Bioinformatics and Biological Chemistry): up to 15 ECTS
- Additional Scientific Qualifications (includes not yet completed courses from the larger discipline of the study program Molecular Biology as well as other modules or individual courses from other Master study programs, such as Genetics, Microbiology, Molecular Plant Sciences, Chemistry, Bioinformatics and Biological Chemistry OR relevant soft skills, such as working in teams, academic English, presentation techniques, scientific writing, data management, processing and analysis, scientific project management, popularization of science, legal and ethical competencies, etc): 30 ECTS
- Lab internship (Großpraktikum) - development of independent research skills during research in an academic laboratory: 15 ECTS
- Master project and Defense: 30 ECTS
